One plane ticket to Puerto Rico changed everything.

MEET MARISOL

I started SolyRey during one of the deepest seasons of loss in my life.

I had experienced two miscarriages, and my third pregnancy was through IVF. That final loss was different, it was a choice, and it broke me in a way I still struggle to fully explain.

The weekend I was supposed to be having Luna's baby shower, I left. I went to Puerto Rico.

At night, I cried. Deeply. But during the day, something unexpected happened. Being somewhere new; surrounded by beauty, culture, ocean air, music, and life, brought moments of joy back into my body. Traveling became therapy for me. Not because it erased the grief, but because it reminded me I was still alive inside of it.

That experience changed me.

I realized how healing it can be to step away from survival mode and experience the wonder of God's creation. There is something about seeing the world that pulls you back into awe. Into breath. Into presence. Into Him.

That was the beginning of SolyRey.

Sol. Rey. A promise and a partnership.

THE NAME

Sol, a nod to me, Marisol.

And Rey, because every step of this was His before it was mine.

For others, it may simply mean sun and king, and that's beautiful too. But for me, it's a daily reminder of who's really in charge and a promise I intend to keep.

To pour into women through curated escapes where faith meets fun, creation reveals the Creator, and God’s presence is felt in every moment of adventure, culture, and rest.

The way that you went above and beyond to make accommodations for me because of my back and hip injury was beyond anything I have ever experienced and I have traveled to many places. Your planning and preparing made this a very memorable trip. You made sure to research all of the excursions you communicated with me about all of the available activities based on my nèeds and individualized my stay because I could not do all the excursions or activities that the whole group could do. You checked in with me at every stage of the trip, from tips and things to do and remember to scheduling my flight, and the drive to the venue. You made sure every pick up and drop off for all my activities were timely. I loved every part of the trip. The daily itinerary allowed for group activities, meals in between and quiet time on our own, you were attentive to each person and mindful of our needs. The venue was beautiful and the views from our location were breathtaking. There was one day where I literally felt like I could touch the clouds. I am so grateful that I was able to go on this trip, it was truly a piece of heaven on earth. I can't wait for the next trip and where God will take us.
